MONTESSORI AMI 3–6 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSE | AUGUST 2026

Every Montessori journey is a journey of continuous learning — a journey of observing, reflecting, and growing alongside the child. This August, MVEC was delighted to welcome teachers and educators back to another meaningful chapter of learning through the Montessori AMI 3–6 Professional Development Course.

MONTESSORI AMI 3–6 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSE | AUGUST 2026

On August 22, 2026, the Montessori AMI 3–6 Professional Development Course officially began, marking the start of a new learning journey for a community of teachers and Montessori educators who are committed to continually deepening and strengthening their professional practice.

What made this year’s course especially meaningful for MVEC was the opportunity to welcome back many of our former students. After years of working in Montessori environments, many of them have chosen to return to learning — continuing to observe, reflect, update their knowledge, and enrich their practice.

In Montessori, completing a training program is not the end. It is only the beginning of a lifelong journey of learning.

We sometimes assume that once a teacher has completed a training program, they have become “fully prepared.” Yet in reality, the longer we work alongside children, the more we realize how much there is still to learn, observe, and reflect upon.

This year’s theme is:

“From Observation to Response – Supporting Children with Clarity and Deep Understanding”

The course brings teachers back to one of the most essential capacities of a Montessori educator: observing children deeply in order to respond appropriately to the developmental needs of each individual child.

The first two sessions with Gretchen Hall – AMI Trainer 3–6 – offered a wealth of knowledge, insights, and perspectives for each participant to reflect upon.

Some of the topics may have been things we had studied, heard about, or practiced many times before. Yet when viewed from a different perspective, through Gretchen’s experience and analysis, these familiar ideas opened up new layers of meaning.

Sometimes, learning is not necessarily about discovering something completely new. It is also an opportunity to deepen our understanding of what we already know, to see more clearly what is happening in the classroom, and to revisit the questions we ask ourselves about our own practice.

One quality MVEC especially appreciates in Gretchen Hall is her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Despite her many years of experience in Montessori and her role as an AMI Trainer, she continues to learn, research, observe, and develop herself. This reminds us that becoming a Montessori teacher is not a destination, but a continuous journey of learning and growth.

Perhaps this is one of the most beautiful values of being an educator: a teacher never stops learning in order to understand children more deeply.

FACULTY FOR THE MONTESSORI AMI 3–6 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSE:

  • September 5–6, 2026 | Diwo Lhamo Pemba | 18:00 ICT

MVEC would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Gretchen Hall for two inspiring opening sessions, for the new perspectives she shared, and for the many insights that each of us can carry forward, reflect upon, and apply throughout our Montessori journey.

At the same time, MVEC is delighted to see so many former students continuing on their path of learning and professional development, even after many years of working in the classroom and accompanying children.

It is this spirit of continuous learning, reflection, and growth that will contribute to building a Montessori community that is increasingly thoughtful, grounded, and connected.

The Montessori AMI 3–6 Professional Development Course | August 2026 journey is still unfolding. We look forward to the upcoming sessions, with more discoveries, meaningful connections, and new perspectives on the journey of understanding the child.
