Opening Ceremony of the AMI Montessori Assistant Course for the 0-3 Age Group: Cultivating Knowledge, Spreading Humanistic Educational Values

On July 11, 2022, Montessori Vietnam Education (MVEC), Tiny Flower Montessori (TFM), the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), and the Montessori Training Center Northeast (MTCNE) proudly hosted the opening ceremony of the AMI Montessori Assistant Course for the 0-3 age group. This event marked not only the beginning of a meaningful learning journey but also a significant step forward in expanding Montessori philosophy in Vietnam, offering valuable opportunities to the educational community passionate about this humanistic approach.

The AMI Montessori Assistant Course for 0-3 years old aims to go beyond professional training by providing educators, school administrators, and parents with a profound understanding of Montessori philosophy—a child-centered educational approach that honors the natural development and hidden potential of children.

With the collaboration of MVEC, TFM, AMI, and MTCNE, this course offers a solid theoretical foundation and practical skills, empowering participants to confidently support children's development in a thoughtfully prepared environment filled with love and respect.

Course Objectives:

  • Master Montessori Philosophy and Practice: Learn how to observe and support children’s development at their own pace.
  • Gain a Deeper Understanding of Early Childhood Psychology: Explore the critical developmental phase from 0 to 3 years, focusing on physical, cognitive, and emotional milestones.
  • Create a Standard Montessori Environment: Develop environments that promote independence, freedom within limits, and holistic growth.
  • Inspire Passion for Early Childhood Education: Encourage a heartfelt commitment to guiding children through their developmental journeys, contributing to a high-quality early education system.

A Montessori Assistant plays a crucial role, not only in supporting the lead teacher but also in bridging the child with their learning environment. This course equips participants with practical knowledge and specialized skills to apply Montessori principles effectively in daily classroom settings, ensuring children achieve greater independence, confidence, and a lifelong love for learning.

The opening ceremony was filled with enthusiasm and inspiration, welcoming the presence of:

  • Ms. Sharlyn Michele Smith: AMI Trainer, Director of Training for AMI Assistant and Teacher Courses for the 0-3 age group, Professor at Loyola University (USA), AMI International Examiner, and Educational Consultant.
  • Ms. Julia Hilson: AMI Trainer for 0-3 and 3-6, Bachelor and Master of Education, International Training Director and Consultant.
  • Mr. Tim Nee: Director of MTCNE and AMI Representative.
  • Ms. Trần Thanh Hiền: AMI International Educational Liaison, Director of MVEC, and a leading advocate for Montessori education in Vietnam.
  • More than 85 participants: Educators and parents from across Vietnam and internationally, creating a dynamic and diverse learning community.

During the ceremony, participants had the privilege of hearing heartfelt speeches from the trainers and educational leaders, receiving warm congratulations and encouragement from the organizing team. All were united in a shared goal: to bring high-quality, humanistic Montessori education to children, fully aligned with their developmental needs.

This course extends far beyond professional certification. It fosters a collaborative space where participants engage in discussions, share insights, and build long-term educational values together. The knowledge and skills acquired will empower participants to apply Montessori principles effectively in practice, supporting the continued success of Montessori education in Vietnam.

With the guidance of highly experienced trainers, both in-person sessions in Ho Chi Minh City and online participants were ensured the highest standards of Montessori education.
